Man oh man. After interviewing what felt like 100 different in-home daycares I swear I never thought we would find the "one." Many of you know when we were living in Maricopa we had found a daycare orignially for Brynlee before she was born. It was all set up and ready to go for when we had to go back to work. In the midst of all that we decided to sell our house and build a new one! So we were going to have to do the dreaded... find a new one out in Mesa!
We started our hunt about 2 weeks after Brynlee was born...
We met some crazies for sure, one lady we showed up to her house and she spoke all SPANISH. The whole time I had been talking to her daughter, little did I know. Another lady we walked in and all the kids were sitting directly in front of the TV not talking, interacting, just watching TV like literally an inch away from the screen. Another person we met had shot glasses and empty tequila bottles on her fridge and was sportin her Miller Lite t-shirt. Not that I judge someone that drinks... but really??? You know you are being "interviewed" so at least dont wear it on your sleeves, literally! Another girl was younger than I was and she was sweet, just had reservations of her age and her true "daycare" style. Another lady watched 8-10 at a time, whaaaat?!
So now you understand why it's been rough eh? Geeesh, to say the least I really never thought we would find someone.
Well... we did! her name is Michelle and her daycare is called Yours,Mine,Ours. She has run her daycare out of her home since 2005 but has been working with children in different church programs etc since 1991. She has a daughter who is as cute as a button. True red head style! Adorable. We showed up and she made sure to show us all her princess costumes and dress up clothes. Her husband works with special needs children at the local junior high. She had a whole room designated for her daycare with bins of dress up clothes, loads of books, and art work hanging up. Her backyard was huge with a sandlot and a swingset, tons of tricyles, and bikes. And a playpool and water table too! She takes them on fieldtrips every now and then to the zoo, musuems, and reading programs at the library. Obviously this is not important quite yet with how little Brynlee is, but it will be someday, and we were looking for the long term.
I think we found the perfect fit. The lady in Maricopa was most definitly the right one, and comparing the two, she is right in line! Thank the heavens we found someone because I really never thought we would!!!!
