Sold!

I cannot believe it! In my last post you read I mentioned hoping to have our house sold by June... never did I ever in a million years think... it would sell in 24 HOURS! We listed the house on Thursday afternoon 4/21 and we got 2 calls Thursday night saying they were coming to look at the house on Friday morning at 10am. Sweet! We had 2 showings already!! This was exciting! We left on Friday morning around 9:30 as the first couple showed up (early!!). So we took off as soon as they arrived because we wanted them to have the house to themselves. We just want to Walmart to get some errands done for Easter. While we were there our realtor (amazing by the way) called. He asked if me and Ryan were together... ummm YES... why? Because he had a full price offer SITTING ON HIS DESK. What?!?!? Your kidding, is this a joke? Am I being punked??? Nope. We weren't.

So one of the couples (the second group) I guess had written an offer Thursday night. They had been looking for our exact floor plan in the neighborhood for months, had written 2 offers on the same floor plan but never heard back because they were short sales. That was one definite positive for us... we were not a short sale. The realtor told Nick that as long as all the pictures were just how the place had looked, it was a done deal. Well Nick had only taken them a week before, so they were real! Haha. I understand why they said that though. When we were buying 2 years ago, you would see these great pictures, and then get to the house and it would be TRASHED. So I understand completely. The wife saw the house Friday morning, fell in love and it was a done deal! The offer was accepted for full asking price on Friday afternoon and we have a closing date of May 30th! Saturday morning the husband came to see their new house for the first time. Still crazy that he never saw it before they even put in an offer!

This next month is going to be nuts to say the least! We have Ryan's birthday, mothers day, 2 baby showers, packing, moving and last but not least... the dreaded... going back to work. Its going to come up really quick!

To take our mind off of the crazy month of May... we are headed to California on Wednesday for our first family vacation!!! We are going to meet a past client of mine and her daughter and hubby for the first time! I am super excited!

Here is to a relaxing vacation to prep us for a crazyyyyy month!

Cheers!

While the babe is asleep...

I get to blog! It's 8pm and little miss is already in bed... woo hoo! That means one of 2 things, either she will be up 3am ready to party, or she will wake up to eat and go right back to sleep. We never know with this girl. Right now I really dont care as I am trying to soak in EVERY minute with her. I know once my maternity time is up I wont have those 3am parties (or maybe I will). She really is on a great schedule though. She eats the same time pretty much every day now and is awake usually around the same time each day as well. She just has a hard time going to sleep some nights, and other nights, like tonight, she goes to sleep like a charm! Works for me for now!

Yesterday we headed out to the new build to meet with the superintendent who will basically make sure our house doesnt fall over. He was awesome, and everyone working there is super nice. He went over the schedule for the build and what we can expect every step of the way. We have permission to come out to the house at any time and ask questions and see what's going on. So far the schedule is to have the framing and drywall up by May 21st, and then all the interior stuff starts happening. Right now the scheduled final walk through is August 6th and scheduled move in is August 9th! Of course things could move quicker, or be delayed depending on weather (but we know AZ weather this time of year, highly doubt were in for a snow storm!!). Here is the work so far, they started building on April 13th. This was just the initial framework for the cement and some beginning of the plumbing :)

And on the note of moving... we listed our house officially TODAY. It was listed around 11am this morning, and by 6pm I had gotten our first call requesting a showing! The realtors have to call me before showing the house due to our new baby. This is great in case we have dishes in the sink or what have you and I can quickly tidy the house back up! We deep cleaned it on Tuesday and we are just going to have to do a great job of picking up after ourselves. We are really trying to stand out against all the stinky foreclosures out there on the market. And since were not a short sale, hopefully we appeal more to buyers knowing it will move quick! Crossing every finger and toe that we sell this house! We just need to be able to sell it by the end of June realistically! So we definitly have time, but the sooner the better! Wish us luck!

I am really really really dreading going back to work. Not at all because I don't love my job, because I do. And definitly not because of the people, because I wouldn't trade them for the world. But just the plain and simple fact of having to leave my baby girl. I'll admit it first hand... I cry almost EVERY day. When I went to the doctor this week he had asked if I was depressed about anything, and I told him really just about going back to work and having to leave her. It will probably be good for me but right now I am having a hard time thinking about leaving her all day. I think the thing that kills me the most is leaving her from 6am till 5pm... thats ALLLLL day. I feel like I will never get any time with my baby, and the babysitter will get all day with her. And I have asked Ryan, do you think she will know the babysitter better than me and him? It scares me. I know I am probably a little dramatic but I am honestly scared! The other thing that has been challenging is finding a daycare for her that I can fully trust.

We met with 2 yesterday and the first one was a definite NO. She was kind of rude with her demeanor which made me question how she would be with my daughter. She was just getting back into the business after 10 years so I could tell she was nervous and didn't really have her swagger down. She made a comment about "anal" moms making their own baby's food, before even thinking twice, that maybe I was?? Which I am. Ha! And I made sure she knew that. She felt pretty stupid I am sure... but oh well, think before you speak!

The second lady has potential. She was really nice, has some other babies that are very close to Brynlee's age that I like. She has been doing it for 11 years and has mainly watched kids of parents who were in the police department. One referral led to the next and its just who she has mainly watched. That was reassuring! After we left, I told Ryan.. she is the one. But then he pointed a few things out to me to make me second guess myself... Since I was doing most of the talking, he was observing the house. He noticed a few things... 1. shot glasses up on the fridge and empty tequila bottles. 2. A pool table and foosball table in the front room. 3. She was wearing a Miller Lite tshirt (classy, I know, and I didnt even notice, ha!) 4. She is a single mom of 2 kids... now all of this really doesnt sound THAT bad. But Ryan questioned if she was a partier, just by adding up all of the little stuff... Which made me question my decision. This really doesnt bother me, as we all have our own personal lives, but it made me think I guess. We decided we were going to ask her for some referrals that we could call and talk to and also just KEEP LOOKING.

So back on Sittercity I went, and the hunt is still on. The 2nd lady isn't OUT quite yet, but I dont know. I dont want to have any doubts or reservations about this decision... So we will see!

Anyways, enough with the blabbing!!! Hope everyone has an awesome Easter weekend! We are having my family over and hosting dinner!

Pork Tenderloin with a Red Pepper Sauce, Garlic and Cheese popovers, and Garlic Mashed Potatoes are on the horizon! With Cake Pops for dessert! Stay tuned for recipes ***if they turn out good!!!***

5 Weeks....

Our little girl is growing so big and FAST! She is doing so great at holding her head up and is really strong! Usually if she is laying on our chest she pushes both of her feet up to get herself higher and higher. Something great happened this week...

Me and Ryan were out to dinner at Bucca Da Beppo, we had just arrived, got all situatued in our booth (which is a process of course), and Brynlee had woke up to eat... I decided I was going to change her diaper before I was going to feed her, so I went to the bathroom, changed her pee pee diaper and came out to feed her. Got her bottle and down went the milk. It didnt take long, and out came the poop... and it went ALL over me. It leaked out the side of the diaper and literally fell into my lap! I had poop EVERYWHERE. On the booth, on my jeans, my hands just everywhere. Of course since we had just gotten there the server kept coming over to see if we were ready to order. I had to tell him we had quite the situation going on and ask him to come back in a bit. Thankfully, he did. Ryan took her to the bathroom, changed her onesie and I sat at the booth and just LAUGHED. I couldn't believe she just did that. Pooping on me is one thing, I'm used to that by now haha. But the fact she did it in public just as we had arrived to dinner was another. And seriously, it was everywhere. And mustard like. EW. Thank god shes so cute and I love her so dang much! And yes, I gave her the rest of the bottle :)

Since then we have switched to Huggies and LOVE them. I like the elastic around the diapers and so far no blowouts. I think she will be moving up a size soon... this girl is growing fast! She doesnt fit in many of her newborn clothes anymore and is fitting well in 0-3 month clothes. Grow baby grow.

Other than that, things have been going great, she is seriously such a great baby. She got to meet her Nana and Nonno for the first time this week and they are loving it!!! I will post more later on their trip, once its over... still got a couple more days with them!

Until next time ;)

The proposal....

3. proposal: how it happened, how long were you engaged for? was it a total surprise? pictures of that... etc.

Wow was this ever a surprise! (which I believe is how it should be!!)

Ryan and I were headed to Colorado for 4th of July weekend in 2009. Ryans entire family was flying in so everyone included... Ryan, myself, his mom and dad, aunt mollie, uncle dave, uncle skippyyyy and his nephew Jack! We were looking forward to a great weekend of BBQ's and fireworks. {At the airport headed to CO!}

I need to backtrack for a moment to the day before the trip... because looking back, this makes the story amazing...

We had gotten off work, I was going to start packing but decided I wante
d to go workout before and I needed to pick up my birth control. So I headed out to the gym and grocery store. I went to the grocery store first... while I was there, decided I had too much to do and was going to skip the gym. I called Ryan and let him know that I was coming home after the store and didnt want to work out. I went up to the pharmacy to get my prescription and the pharmacist told me "You are the customer of the day, can you please sit down and wait, we have a special prize for you" (imagine an asian lady doing your nails saying this LOL)... I was like Huh?! Okay, I will wait! First thing I did was call Ryan, I told him I AM THE CUSTOMER OF THE DAY!!!! I was so excited, I had no idea what it meant, but I felt pretty cool. I then proceeded to call my mom, she and my dad worked for Fry's forever so I figured they would know what it meant.. I called my mom, she said, she didnt know anything about that, but maybe I had won a gift card. SWEET, free groceries! So I sat... and waited and waited and waited......... what the heck was going on?! Finally, they call my name OVER THE INTERCOM, "Sarah the pharmacy is ready for you". So I headed back up there, and the lady tells me... "I am sorry, we made a big mistake, you are not the customer of the day".... WHAT?! SAD!!! I had been waiting for a good 30 minutes to not get anything... waste of time! So I left, called my mom and Ryan told them the bad news, haha. Ryan sounded like he had something up his sleeve but I didnt know. So I went home... and he greeted me at the door... umm? Thats unusual, he usually just sits on the couch or whatever. He opened the door and met me outside. So then I was really suspicious. I asked him what was up... he told me... he called the pharmacy and was trying to stall them because he was trying to buy me flowers. How frickin cute. But then I asked, why would you buy me flowers if we are leaving town tomorrow morning? He said I dunno, I just wanted to. Okay, kinda weird, but sweet. So on went our night... I will get to why he did all this at the end of the story.

So on to Colorado we went! We arrived on July 2nd at night, had a great night with the family all hanging out, but I was pooped, so I went to bed kind of early and Ryan stayed up with his Aunt and Uncle, drinking and just hanging out. We woke up the next morning, and Ryan had
asked if I wanted to go on a hike. His aunt and uncle live in Morrison, CO and if you have never been there, its AMAZING. The best views, the best hiking, just amazing. Look a little something like this:

I told him I was tired and really didnt want to go. He said he would just go by himself. Sad, so I caved and on the
hike we went. We went up the mountain and Ryan kept saying lets just go a little further, I wanted to turn around. What a pain in the ass I was being! Jeez. Apparantly he wanted to get to that perfect spot. We stopped at a large tree, you could see downtown Denver beautifully and the views were outstanding. I said, lets take a picture! So us being our normal goofy selves we put up the bunny ears, took a picture... and out came... THIS:

If you cant see what is happening in this picture, the ring is ON his finger. So being any girl, I replayed the picture and I looked at his finger, I said "What are you doing? Your not doing the bunny ears"... I zoomed in and saw the ring! WHAT IS HAPPENING? I thought... OMG this is not happening right now.... I turned around, he was on one knee... and it all happened. He told me I make him the happiest girl on earth, he wouldnt want to spend his life with any other person, and asked me to marry him... OF COURSE I SAID YES!!!

{Right after he asked me, sorry about the boob grab kids, ha!}

{{The ring}

So to end the story, we walked back to his Aunt and Uncle's house. I didnt know how we were going to tell the whole family! The only thing running through my head was, what is his mom going to think? Will she think it's too soon? Will she accept me? I couldnt stop thinking about it. Ryan apparantly already knew how he was going to tell his family. So we got back to the house, his Aunt and Uncle were awake, and Ryan had apparantly told them the night before. So they congratulated us, hugged us, cried, the whole nine yards. Ryan's parents were still in bed. Ryan had written his mom and dad a letter. He told his nephew Jack to go deliver it to them to their bedroom. We stood outside the room and Dean read the letter to his mom. It was a whole letter about how he was going to ask me to marry him and how he couldn't be happier and he hoped they would accept me into their family. I could hear his mom crying and I was crying outside the door listening. They didn't know we were out there! She came out of the room, hugged us both and we all cried. To say the least, it was one of the BEST days of my life. I couldnt of been more on a cloud nine. And to tell you why all the drama happened at the grocery store... well... RYAN WAS PICKING UP THE RING AND HAD TO STALL ME!!!! Of course I had to ruin it by not working out. So he had to come up with something, and quick! hahah, love him for that! And dang him for not making me the customer of the day!

So thats our story. It was amazing, wonderful, and absolutely perfect. He is such a great husband and father to our baby girl.

We end our story with a cheers!

When I knew....

2. when you knew he was the one: self explanatory.. but how and when did you know?

Me and Ryan had quite the the rough start if you couldn't tell by how we met... not a rough start as in fighting etc. just not the most romantic first meeting. So once we officially started dating things moved slow but quick at the same time...

He started staying at my apartment which I lived with my good friends Kelsey and Brittany at the time. He didnt move in, but might as well have. We stayed together every single day. Ryan would always tell me how he thought it was weird because I reminded him so much of his mom. And he said he knew he always wanted to marry someone like his mom, because him and his mom were so close. That made me feel really special.

It wasn't until we were dating for about three months that I knew that this could possibly be IT. Ryan had gotten into a car accident. He totalled his car... we were standing by his dismantled car and the cops had arrived. Luckily, he was the only one involved in the accident, and did not get hurt but a scratch on his thumb. But the cop was in the car writing him a ticket for the accident and he was hugging me and holding me, and it was then when he first said "I love you." It was dark, the car was destroyed, and we just hugged and I told him I loved him too. I knew then, this could be it, this was real, and I truly had fallen in love.

After my last relationship I didnt know if I could really ever love again. I also didnt think I wanted to be in a super serious relationship, I had just gotten out of a 6 year relationship and was only single for a year. But I knew then, that I loved him and I could feel this way again.

How it all began...

1. how it all began: how you met, first date, first kiss, how long did you date? first picture together.....etc.

Mine and Ryan's story is rather interesting, isnt everyone's? :)

I used to work at a company called Northland Group doing collections in 2007. I worked with a girl named Desiree who happened to be one of my good friends at the time. We had a Christmas party for the company and decided that before the party we were going to go back to her place to pre-party and then head to the party. So we went to her place and she had 2 roommates, Ryan and Matt. They weren't home so it was all good. We partied at her place and about 30 minutes before we were getting ready to leave, Ryan came home from work. To say the least, the pre-partying got a little outta hand, and I was already DRUNK. Me and another friend were laying on his bed who happened to be Desi's bed as well. She was staying with Ryan and Matt
because her and her bf had broken up. Now ready for the fun part? Ryan and Desi used to date back in High School for 6 YEARS in Ohio. And yep, they shared beds at the apartment. Uninterested in this guy? Yep. (p.s. this is Ryans version of how we met... mine not so much :))

The night went on, we went to the party, and I never saw Ryan again. Or so I thought. A couple months later I was meeting Desi and a few other friends at a house party. Yes I partied a lot, I was single, duh! When we got there, she happened to bring her 2 roommates with her. Well hello again Ryan and Matt. Haha. So we started drinking, hanging out, and then the shots started. Somehow, me and Ryan got into a contest of some sort and started taking shots together of who could take the most. Well, I lost. I didn't loose in the aspect of taking the most, I lost because I puked. Hot, I know. Ryan, being the sweet guy he is, held my hair and the trashcan, and even carried me out to my car so my cousin could drive me home.

Again, never thought I would see him again. Wrong.

Since I was single for the first time in 6 years, I was dating a couple different guys, just going to dinner and enjoying the single life. I was once again, having a party at my house this time. I invited Ryan, and 2 other guys I was talking to the party never thinking they would come, let alone ALL THREE. Yep, all three showed up to the party, what was I going to do??? um, kiss a different guy. Yep, FAIL. Poor Ryan. He witnessed me kiss another guy and decided that was his calling to leave. So he left and I was too drunk to know. Wow I sound like an alcoholic. Anyways, the next morning I got a text from him saying, "all I wanted to do was cuddle with you tonight." OMG WHO IS THIS GUY, how frickin sweet! So I texted him back, apologized for me being stupid drunk and we started to talk. He asked me to dinner. I still have no idea why, I
mean he saw me at my worst and then some.

We went to dinner on our first official date at Cafe Boa on Mill in January 2007. Did this guy know Italian would steal my heart and he was the FIRST guy in all the dinners I had been to, to take me to Italian. Yum. The dinner was amazing, and honestly, the rest is history.

We never went another day without talking or seeing eachother. We shared our first kiss a few dates in at my apartment, and he asked me to be his "girlfriend" on Valentines Day 2007. We dated for 2 amazing years and were engaged in July 2009, married in June 2010!

One of the oldest pictures of us I could find on this computer... Halloween 2008!

Stolen blog challenge!

Thanks to my friend Amanda for this great idea for the blog, I love it!

This is the perfect opportunity for me to document all the reasons why I even started this blog to begin with, the start of our family branched from mine and Ryans love. So why not document our story. I am so excited! I prob wont do it daily, thats a little rough with a newborn, but maybe every other day! So get ready for all the details... this is more for me than you :) I want Brynlee and the other kiddo's to be able to read this one day and know how it all began.

1-month Check Up!

Still cannot believe our baby girl is one stinkin month old! She had her 1-month check up today and the verdict is... She's Amazing!!!! :)

She weighed in at a whoppin 10lbs 4.5oz and is 22 1/4 inches long. Remember at birth, she was 7lbs 6oz and was 19 inches long. Holy moly babe, way to grow! The doctor was very impressed with her neck control and her growth. She is in the 80th percentile for both weight and height, way to go! I feel so relieved since I have been breastfeeding, makes me feel like she is getting the right amount of food and nutrients. We also talked about poop. Fun eh? poop. She went over a day without pooping and we were worried sick. I thought she was constipated, she had to be right? Nope. Apparantly breastfed babies can go poop daily, or up to a week without pooping, a week! Seems crazy to me! So all is well in the poop department, to say the least. Ha! I am so proud of our baby girl, she is doing so well and we couldn't be more proud!

In the past couple weeks we have been having a LOT of fun with little miss. Getting out of the house a lot which is keeping us sane. We have enjoyed a spring training game watching the Diamondbacks and Cubs. (well kinda, there wasnt much game watching happening haha). We went over to my cousins house which had a heated pool. So we dipped Brynlee in the pool for the very first time. She is loves the water, which she better if she wants to grow up in Az!! :) She is such a diva, seriously. She rocks the swimsuit and sunglasses.

We have been cleaning a lot of junk out of the house as well. I told Ryan, we are not moving a piece of junk, if we haven't used it in the 2 years we have been living here, throw.it.away. So the garbage has been fullllll the last few weeks! I only have a few more areas of the house to clean out, then we are JUNK FREE.

Nana Deb and Nonno Dean are coming into town in 3 days!!!!! We cannot WAIT to see them and I know they cannot wait to meet their grandbaby! They are here for 10 days and we plan to have lots of fun! I think we might take a trip to the zoo, we are going to show them our new house (the model anyways haha), and both of their birthdays are happening while they are in town, so we will have a birthday celebration for both! Woo hoo! Oh and one last thing, Debbie, I know you read this blog sooo.... get ready for a night of babysitting, because Ryan said he is takin me on a date! AWESOME. I cannot wait to go on a date with just him and I. We need it bad. I am sure you won't mind watchin the cutest grandbaby in the world, right? :)

Lots of fun happening around this house, I love being on maternity leave and I am scared outta my mind the day I have to go back to work. I love being home with my baby girl. Love love love. It will be good though, lets not talk about that now, I have 7 more weeks! Woo hoo!

P.s. House foundation gets laid next WEDNESDAY. That means next time we see it there will be some other action besides DIRT. WOOOOO HOOOO!!!!!

Here are some pics of the pool time and spring training baby :)

Until next time ;)
