Nursery Inspirations...

So we are going to start the nursery in the next coming weeks after finding out our furniture is HERE already! So much for 9-11 weeks, haha! But Buy Buy Baby is being great and holding it for us till October so we have all of September to clear that room out and at least get it painted. We plan to paint the room a light pink and accent with dark pink and lime green. We will obviously wait till our appointment on September 17th to know for sure if its a boy or girl to do anything with paint! I know I showed you all the bedding we picked for a girl a while back... in case you forgot what it looked like, here is a peek:So now that things are looking positive for a little girl on the way I have been looking for inspirations to go into this nursery... I want it simple but chic. Nothing to overpowering. So here are a few things I have found...

These curtains are from Pottery Barn for a whoppin $19 bucks. We are taking off the closet doors and replacing them with curtains. We did this in our bedroom and it turned out so cute! The little polka dots will be lime green!

We are wanting to find a lime green shag rug like pictured above. It will bring the green from the bedding and the slight green in the curtains out!

Love these curtain rods for the cute curtains above for the closet! Dont know if we would go with the green or pink, but either one would work!! These are from pottery barn as well.

Ryan and I both love this growth chart as well. Being that we both love dance so much (although neither of us were dancers, just have a passion for it) we think this is both so us. It is just a wall decal that I found on etsy and we can get it printed in any color. Not sure what color we would pick whether it would be dark pink, white, or silver... who knows! But we think it would be great to just keep track of the little one growing along!

I would love to find a chandelier to hang above the crib or the glider but we will see what we can find. I dont want to spend a zillion dollars on it so if anyone knows where to get the chandeliers you can put in a nursery that are not like 200+ let me know!

Anyways, these are the crazy thoughts that run through my head and I think that it will turn out adorable. Once we get started with the rooms I will post pictures as we go so you can see it progress!

Someone cut this lady off...

So of course we just have to find out on a Friday afternoon that the jellybean appearing to be a little girl. That is not good thing when you have the stores CALLING your name! I went to Baby Gap, Carters, & Old Navy. Bought about 35 things all for under 100 bucks. Can you say steal?! Everything I bought was either on clearance or sale of course. I also asked at each store their return policy in the instance it was a boy (doubtful but ya never know) and I can take back each and every item! Even though they were sale, they are all returnable! I even bought a pair of black leggings with a rim of lace at the bottom for 97 cents! Brynlee is already sooo spoiled. On that note, I am cut off (with the exception of the Michigan trip) till our next ultrasound. We are doing carry on for MI too so there wont be much room for much extra! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Forgot to post this yesterday! :)

Your Baby: Week 12

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.

Little miss thang?

No thats not a penis, that would be the umbilical cord, we thought the same thing LOL!

Think pink as the doctor said...

So when we were 8 weeks our doctor asked if we wanted to do the Nuchal Translucency (NT) testing. It tests for Trisomy 21 and Trisomy 18. Good news is that both came back completely NORMAL. The NT was 1.5 and there is concern anything over 3. So ours was very good! The also looked at the spinal cord, brain, and heart. Everything was GREAT in the doctors words. Heart beat was 164 :)

So while we were there I had mentioned when I caught a glimpse of the tooshie, "oh I think that's a penis!" HA! So the tech asked if we were wanting to find out. I said heck yes! So she said she would look and see if she could tell. She continued on with the ultrasound and made her way back down to the bottom. So the tech says "So I can say with 85% confidence that its a GIRL!" We were like.. umm are you kidding me?! I said why do you say that, she said I will show you... So she goes to her bottom and said "see how its pointing inward" thats a girl. So the ultrasound continues, we go on to tell her how we are doing an early gender reveal at 15 weeks. We get this great shot of the baby in 3d and she said, its a girl.

Okay so next, Dr. Soloman who actually used to see my sister when she was pregnant with Connor comes in. Keep in mind, we are at a very high risk doctors office with amazing technology. So she walks in, and says word for word "dont waste your money, its a girl." We were like are you SURE. She said she couldnt say definitively but yes. She even went on to say that she will let us come back at 16 weeks to tell us for sure. Our doctor wouldnt see us till 20 weeks. So we get to save our $60 bucks and go see her again a week later. But at the end, she said go shopping and think pink!

Now the reason I say 90% confidence is because again, she cant tell us FOR SURE. But I have never heard a doctor so confident. So we headed to the mall because I needed to find something anyways for the party next weekend and found ourselves of at Gap with my groupon... I did look for myself but then I ended up spending all my $50 groupon on the baby! My sister also met us at the mall and stopped at Carters on her way in and surprised us with some adorable clothes! We will keep all the tags and receipts of course!

For those who want to know her name, its going to be Brynlee Madison Lopez!

Here is Brynlee's first outfit, I had a Groupon so I only spent 4 bucks on the whole thing! The onesie says BYOB, ha!
The adorable outfits my sister got us!!! Love them!

1.6.7.

Thats how fast the litte babes heart is beating in there! Although the appointment was short and sweet, it was amazing to hear the heart beating for the first time! Doctor says... "oh yeah, your definitly pregnant." HAHA, what is that supposed to mean?

Apparantly I have lost 7 1/2 pounds since my last appointment 4 weeks ago. I guess this is pretty normal because of your lack of appetite and the nautiousness I had been feeling for the last couple of weeks. I am proud to say... it is back in full force. I got my appetite back about a week ago! I haven't really been nauseous either for about a week now. Not that I am happy to have lost 7 pounds, but I am happy that it gives me room to grow a little more now! Haha! The belly sure doesnt look like I have lost much weight!

I am getting a little bit of energy but based of yesterday, the energy levels are not back yet. I got home from work at 430 and slept till about 730. Back in bed at 9pm! Yep, I am THAT lame these days! ;)

On a side note... I got my two pairs of maternity jeans in the mail from Motherhood Maternity, and they are SO cute! So excited about them so I can feel better about wearing jeans. I have been tending to stare at the closet at all my old jeans and get sad knowing that most dont button and their just not comfortable like these maternity pants are!

On Friday we get to get a picture of the baby (hopefully) at our down syndrome NT Scan. We are doing this just for us. A lot of people ask if I am more high risk because of Connor and the answer is no. There is no correlation nor do I have any higher of a chance than the next female. We are doing this for our piece of mind and to be prepared for us.

Looking forward to Michigan next week! Get to see all my in-laws and family! Look for the picture coming up on Friday!! :) Have a great week!

You put the lime on the coconut....

The jelly bean is the size of a LIME this week (11 weeks that is)! So when you are out this weekend, have a drink on me and the baby and put a lime in it :)

This weekend we plan to start the guest room and office head on! Hopefully it goes well. We need to start getting rid of a lot of this unwanted junk. Other than that, just going to hang with Connor man and then off to a birthday party Saturday night. Nothing crazy going on in the Lopez household!

Oh and this week I announced it to the "world" of Facebook! So welcome new readers. Hope you all have a great weekend!

From Grandma with Love...

Every month we have been receiving a piece of mail from my mom and family. She is sending a monthly card to the jelly bean. Are you wondering what is in the 2nd month's card? Oh that would be a smooshed blueberry, Ha! Our baby was the size of blueberry at one point so my mom thought it was necessary to put one in the card and in the mail in this AZ heat! haha! The first card came with a little bag of jelly beans as well! It is fun getting these every month and I am saving them all for the baby book to show the baby once he/she is older!

Oh and check out Connor's little footprint! Hehe :)

It's a done deal

We bought the crib today! The last one I blogged about was the one we purchased! They said it will take between 9-11 weeks but could come sooner, that is the maximum amount of time we can expect. So in the chance it does come sooner we need to start preparing for this thing called a nursery. We plan to clean out both guest room and office closets next weekend. We are moving the guest room into the office and the old guest room will be the nursery. Once we get back from Michigan we will at least prime the room (it's yellow right now) and paint the ceiling back white. Then once we find out boy or girl on September 17th we will be able to pick out paint colors and get to painting the walls. As long as the room is just painted before the crib gets here we will be okay. We opted in for delivery and assembly so we don't have to put it all together and they remove all the trash etc. That being said, they will need to assemble it in the nursery since the crib wont fit through the door, hence why we need the room painted. Worst comes to worst, we will just put some painting tarps over the crib and maneuver ourselves around it. Hope that doesn't have to be the case though!!

We decided on a girl bedding set, but are still undecided on a boy bedding set... Here is the girl set we like

What we mainly like about it is there really is no "theme" to it. We can decorate the nursery in three different colors, light pink, dark pink and lime green. It wont have a white crib of course but we think it will look better that way. If we had a girl, I picture a lime green shag rug, lighter pink walls, and darker pink accents on the walls, with some green in it too. Some of you know we wanted to do purple for the girl, but we had a horrible time trying to find cute purple bedding sets so we changed the design plan. We love this set!

If we have a little man, we are thinking either teal, orange and tan for the color scheme. It sounds weird but I promise its cute. Or navy blue with lighter yellow... of course this is Ryan's vote for Michigan! Ha, so cute!

Well anyways, just thought I would update you guys! Oh and tonight my sister gave us a TON of baby clothes, some are gender neutral so we will be able to use either way, and some are of course for little mans, so if we dont have a boy we will pass them on. Thanks sis, love them all! Hope everyone had a happy weekend!

A prune... Really?

This morning I went to check to see what the baby was up to this week... and apparently its the size of a prune... out of all things, they pick a prune? Haha! Well looks like this week it can apparantly start moving, rolling around and getting its taste buds! So maybe now it can know what momma is chompin on!! Haha, just kidding!

This week was an okay week for me, still really fighting the tiredness and the come and goes of the appetite. I do have cravings, but never for the same thing. Only thing that has been consistent has been pickles, yum!

This weekend there are about 14 of us going to dinner to Sapporo's for my best friend, Veronica's birthday! Woopie! Should be a great time and I have been craving their rice, so I am excited!!! We also plan to go purchase the baby's crib and hutch! SO excited for that!

Another thing that has been on the horizon is a SLR camera. We really want a nice camera before the baby is born to get some good shots pre-baby and of course when the baby arrives. We are looking at the Nikon D3000 right now. I have heard great things, and Ryan has been reading up on CNet to see what the best value is. We want to get it before our trip to Michigan so we can take some great shots with the family! Well here is what the baby will be up to this week:

10-week Baby Bump

For all of you that have been requesting to see "the bump" here it is! Yes those are maternity jeans... my jeans dont button anymore :( I do have a bella band so I can still wear all my old jeans because everything else still fits but these jeans are super comfy! Please tell me that's a baby bump and not a food bump because that would be NO good :)

Call Me Mrs. Lopez

I guess its all done! I am a Lopez officially. Got the new license and SSI card. Also changed my bank cards and credit cards. Went through the name change process at work. I think that will be the hardest part! I have tons of clients emailing me all day so for them to see a new name will probably throw them off at first, although most know I got married! Last thing I really need to do is change the bills and change my passport. That will happen over time. I also changed my personal email address, it is now SLopez612@yahoo.com so add that to your contact list!

You wait your whole life to get married, then it happens, you have the biggest dream wedding day come true. Once its over, its honestly... sad. I think about it ALL the time. How I wish I could go back in time and do it all over again. Not to change anything, just to do everything again. Like the rush of picking up all the fam from the airport, the rehearsal dinner, and of course the wedding! All the things leading up to it too, the bach parties and the bridal showers, and honeymoon too! Man, I miss it so much.

Ryan always tries to cheer me up by telling me, we have a BABY on the way. Which is so true. But, in all reality, I think I got too much joy out of creating paper poms and picking out flowers. By just thinking of all the creative things I can do to really make the wedding OURS. I dont know how people have wedding planners.. its too much fun to do it on your own. Well now that I am tearing up... I guess I will end this post!

To all you planning your weddings or getting married, ENJOY IT! Enjoy every single minute, because once it happens, you change your name and have babies! Thinking of vanilla or chocolate cake is out the window! (until the babies 1st bday of course!!)

Much Love~

Made a decision today...

We made a decision on a crib today. We are going to order it next weekend because me and Ryan signed up for 20% off coupons so we are waiting on those since it will save us quite a bit! The color will be darker than pictured since we are ordering the darker wood but I couldn't find it online. We are going with the Westwood Stratton Collection. We are ordering the crib and the dresser with the hutch attached. We are not ordering the taller dresser since we have no place for it in the room. The hutch has touch sensor lighting and the drawers on top swing out rather than pull out for easy access while changing the baby. The hutch also has additional shelving that isn't pictured below. It is also a 4 in 1 convertible so it should last us through the kids high school days since it will eventually turn into a full bed. Which was bigger than I had in high school! It will take 9-12 weeks to arrive so we should expect it sometime in mid-end October. We are so happy with it! Here's the crib:

You'll notice it isn't any of the cribs from the original post but it was one we found after that post that we just fell in love with!

Green Olives... Yum!

The little jelly bean sure is growing! Eat a green olive this week in celebration of the bean! :) Dont worry guys, a picture of my belly is coming soon, because yes, it is growing. Not enough for you guys to notice, but it sure is enough for ME to notice! I cant barely button any of my jeans anymore :( The bean is 9 weeks old today! And has officially graduated from an embryo to a fetus and the little tail is gone! Starting to look more and more like a BABY! :)

This week was an okay week for me, having moments of sickness, and moments of greatness! Luckily I am nearing the end of the first trimester and I should start feeling better soon. Until next time......

Your Baby: Week 9

Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!

September 17th

That is THE day. After talking to a great client of mine at work (Shauny!!), we decided to do an early gender reveal. She did the same thing, living in Utah! We will go to a 4d doctors office and know the sex of the baby at 15 weeks! It's either that or waiting till the end of October (dont quite know how I calculated September the first time :) And we are getting impatient!!! So call us crazy, but yes we are the big dorks going to an early reveal. They have a 97% accuracy rate so clearly it should be right!!! Especially if it's a little boy!

Going to Michigan in a few weeks will help surpass some time, cant wait for that trip to see all the family back east!!

Cloth Diapers?

So many decisions come into play when having a baby. What type of bottles will you use, what color you will decorate the nursery, a NAME, oh and what type of diapers you will use! I read a blog post today on a blog that I follow and love, Young House Love, not sure if any of you are familiar. But anyways, she posted a very informative post about cloth diapers that she currently uses on her 11 month old. And wow the good things she had to say. Ryan and I both read it and felt we learned a lot in just a short reading!

Your probably thinking... what a pain, to have to wash the diapers and not just be able to throw them away. Yeah, I thought the same thing, but after reading this post, it really doesnt seem like too much of an inconvienence. And actually, their CUTE! After reading her post, I also learned how much $$$ you can save. Costs $265 for a package of 12 diapers, and she hasnt needed more than 12, since your always washing them out. In a year, the average mom spends about $3,000 on diapers. WOWZERS! These cloth diapers will last all the way through potty training, and on to the next child! Ryan and I haven't come to a decision yet, but it is not definitly a highly pondered thought! Tell me what you think.......

A Little Connor Man Lovin...

Last night Ryan and I babysat Connor for the first time on a weeknight. I guess getting the true experience of an infant alongside with waking up at 545am for work! Of course, the night we actually volunteer to help my sister out, the poor little buddie gets sick! He was throwing up the entire night. But all I could do is stare into his beautiful blue eyes and kiss his forehead and tell him to please feel better. We attempted everything from belly laying to slow bottle feedings but nothing seemed to cure that little tummy ache. This morning when we were heading out he threw up again in his carseat and I just knew something wasn't right about this... my sister is now at the ER with Connor as the throw up turned a greenish color- no good! I hope he starts to feel better soon!

He is scheduled for his surgery on Thursday and I hope this doesnt put any delay in the process. I just want him feeling better and growing, and throwing up doesnt help with that mix!

Through all the craziness, and at the end of our "morning" it made me have a smile on my face. This is what we are about to experience. This is what we will encounter as parents in the near future. Seeing Ryan handle Connor in the middle of the night and myself rocking him in our new rocking chair (which he loved) was worth not having sleep. Because at the end of the day, Connor is an angel and I truly believe that. He is the strongest baby I know, and I know many other people that say the same thing. I love you Connor and one day when you read this, just know, your worth it! Every little bit! Xoxo

Cribs cribs cribs... the big debate

Soo Ryan and I have been looking at cribs lately just to get ideas of what we like and what were looking for. We decided we are going to go with a dark wood either boy or girl because it just goes with the flow of our house. So that decision was easy. We have fallen in love with three cribs and need your vote! Keep in mind, all three are convertible and will go from a crib to a toddler bed to a full bed eventually! Let us know which one is your favorite :)

Crib #1

Crib #2
